Punk Voter: Still stuck on stupid
By Rizzuto

Fri Aug 22, 2008 - I had figured that the Punk Voter gang had simply gotten bored with their little political game but apparently not. In a post which is dated July 23rd of this year, they write:
Obama, not afraid to meet with both sides in Israel/Palenstine [sic] conflict.

Unlike John McCain, democratic nominee Barack Obama isn't afraid to meet with both sides. Isn't at least attempting to talk to both sides the best way to help broker a peaceful solution?
They're referring to the fact that Obama met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas during his romp around the globe. Unfortunately for Punk Voter, McCain was willing to meet with Abbas as well in March of 2008, before Obama even planned a trip to the mideast. This from Haartz:
At a press conference with Livni, McCain said he had telephoned Abbas, who is based in the West Bank city of Ramallah just a few kilometres away, because he was unable to meet the Palestinian president in person.

McCain said the Western-backed leader wants to move forward in peace talks.

"I again believe that President Abbas wants to get this [peace] process started," McCain said in Jerusalem.
McCain is unwilling to meet with the head of the terrorist organization Hamas, not Abbas who represents the Fatah organization. As far as I know, that's Obama's position as well. Other's who have met with Abbas include Secretary of State Condi Rice, who held a trilateral meeting that included Israeli Prime Minister Olmert in 2007.

Whoever is running Punk Voter these days is either woefully uninformed, or is growing slow in his old age...
