The Cone of Silence Bunk
By Rizzuto

Mon Aug 18, 2008 - NBC’s Andrea Mitchell has proved that we apparently live in a time where it is completely acceptable for “journalists” to throw out accusations without any proof. From the Politico:
Team Obama, in apparent recognition of McCain having the better night at Saddleback, responded by pushing the notion that their rival got wind of the questions.

NBC's Andrea Mitchell said on Meet the Press yesterday that "Obama people" were saying "that McCain may not have been in the cone of silence and may have had some ability to overhear what the questions were to Obama." The Democrat went first in the two-hour forum.
Now, seeing as this bunk has already entered the public forum, it’s up to McCain to disprove the accusations, an uphill battle when no evidence is produced in the first place.

Democrats are simply falling back on a classic tactic; if your candidate loses, cast doubt upon the fairness of the process itself. Mitchell was more than happy to carry the water. It certainly has taken the attention away from Obama’s dismal performance, and somewhat embarrassing answers.
